Why Kate Middleton Isn’t With Prince William on His New York City Trip
Prince William returned to New York City for the first time since 2014, but his wife Kate Middleton didn’t join him this time. Per People, Kate stayed behind in the U.K. to take care of the couple’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The outlet noted that although Kate and William have longtime nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo’s help, they regularly do their children’s school runs themselves and make sure at least one of them is there most evenings with their kids.
William is in New York City for two days. Notably, he has the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit today. He already went to the United Nations’ General Assembly and shared photos from his visit on his shared Instagram with Kate.
“Great to speak with colleagues from across the world here at #UNGA in New York, including: 🇺🇳 @antonioguterres, @unitednations Secretary-General [and] 🇪🇨 @guillermolasso, President of Ecuador,” his team wrote. “Protecting and restoring our planet is vital and global collaboration on the solutions is key.”
Kate, meanwhile, had her own outing in London today.
The Princess of Wales visited community development charity Streets of Growth. The couple shared more details from that event on their Instagram, too: “A pleasure to visit @streets.of.growth in East London, a game-changing charity which supports young people to transform their lives in the face of adversity. Their work is inspired by the fantastic approach of @roca_inc in Boston 🇺🇸 It was great to meet some of the young people and communities, and those working with them, to see how they are flourishing under the charity’s programmes.”
Additionally, Kate made a solo visit to Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton in Somerset on Monday.
