The world watched, captivated, as Prince George arrived for his first day of school last Tuesday at Thomas’s Battersea. The four-year-old Prince will likely make a ton of friends, but, at least according to one royal watcher, he won’t be encouraged to make a best friend. Speaking on a recent episode of the U.K. show “Loose Women,” panelist Jane Moore suggested that Thomas’s Battersea’s policy discourages students from having a single best friend. Moore reportedly lives close to the school and has friends whose children attend, so she considers herself an expert.
“You were saying at the meeting that they don’t encourage children to have best friends at this school, do they?” one of the panelists questioned.
“No, absolutely not,” Moore responded. “There’s a policy that if your child is having a party — unless every child is invited in the class you don’t give out the invites…”
A good thing, concluded the panel to audience applause, as it doesn’t make students feel excluded.
