Why the MAFSAU cast were reportedly reprimandedChannel Nine

Married At First Sight Australia is delivering dramatic blow after dramatic blow, which the latest report claiming the cast have been severely reprimanded by producers for breaking the rules. Eek.

The show, which is in its 11th series, sees participants enter into an experiment where they are matched with their perfect partner by relationship experts, and meet for the first time at the altar.

They then head on honeymoon, before moving into a purpose built apartment block to try out living together. Each week, they go for a dinner party with their fellow couples, before a commitment ceremony, where they must decide to stay in the experiment or leave.

So far, there have been success stories (Ridge and Jade for life!) alongside some not so happy couples, with a few of the participants also reportedly getting into trouble with producers.

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, some of the cast members have breached their contracts by 'leaking storylines' on social media, when they have given clues or insights into the status of their relationship before the show is over.

"Production has come down hard on the cast this year and are happy to make an example of people, reminding them they’ve all signed legally binding contracts which they’re actively breaching," the insider said, adding that they had 'gently reminded' the participants of the rules.

In response, though, Ben Walters (who has shared details from the experience on TikTok), insisted he hadn't heard anything. "They haven’t helped me one bit with the edit I’ve received and have blocked any publicity to tell my side of the story and for that, they can continue to ‘reprimand’ all they like. I feel it’s no different to a musician deciding to leave a label and be independent. I’ve gone a bit bananas on TikTok and they haven’t said a peep."

And we'll leave it at that.
