Why Tom Holland didn't join Zendaya at the Emmys
Tom Holland and Zendaya have got to be one of our favourite celebrity couples. So fans were upset to see the actor was absent from the Emmy Awards red carpet - despite the fact Zendaya scooped up the Lead Actress in a Drama Series gong for the second time.
It was a big night for Zendaya, who was named the youngest-ever two-time acting winner, thanks to her role of Rue in Euphoria. In her acceptance speech, she shouted out the cast and crew that created a "safe space to make this very difficult show", before thanking anyone that related to Rue.
Sadly, she wasn't joined on the red carpet or at the ceremony by boyfriend Tom Holland, likely due to a scheduling conflict. While the 74th Emmy Awards is held in Los Angeles, Tom was photographed two days ago filming The Crowded Room in New York City, while Zendaya has been shooting for Dune 2, and pictured everywhere from Budapest and Dubai to Jordan and Italy.
Also, the couple have previously spoken out about their desire to keep their relationship private. Which means while they were happy to pose together on Spider-Man: No Way Home, aka the production they were in together, other red carpet appearances may be few and far between.
"One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore," Tom told GQ last summer. "I've always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway."
The pair have been together since July 2021, when pictures emerged of them kissing in a car, though fans speculate they were together long before that.
