Woman Shares Viral 'New Year's Resolutions Bingo' Method — and It's Already Paying Off for Her (Exclusive)
"Now that it is a game, I'm going to win," TikToker Erin Jones says of gamifying her resolutions this year
A TikTok user has gone viral for her method of making New Year's resolutions: gamifying them.
Erin Jones (who goes by the username @ErinLJones95 on the platform) explains that her resolution is something of a mix of fun game and manifestation — and it's already worked for her
"The bingo goals method is a lesson in audacity and putting yourself out there no matter how lofty, delusional, cringey or impossible your dreams might sound," Jones tells PEOPLE.
A social media user has gone viral after sharing her innovative approach to making New Year's resolutions this year: by turning them into a game.
TikTok user Erin Jones (who goes by the username @ErinLJones95 on the platform) shares in a video that she started making resolution bingo cards back in 2023. In 2025, the method is continuing to pay off.
"I'm turning my New Year's resolutions into a bingo card," Jones said in a video that has continued to be resurfaced a year later and has so far been viewed some 350,000 times. "And now that it is a game, I I'm going to win. All right? I'm going to get multiple bingos."

Jones tells PEOPLE that she first came up with the idea of bingo as a way to make resolutions more fun — and competitive. "Since I’ve always had trouble with standard goal methods, like habit tracking, I decided to lean into my competitive spirit and gamify my goals," she says.
"As a former maternity leave teacher, I knew that turning a complex lesson into a game or challenge always inspired my students to try harder to achieve their goals and the same is true for adults," she adds. "When you can make an obstacle fun, it’s not intimidating anymore and you’re excited to put in the work and accomplish it."
The key to getting bingo while still ensuring you include ambitious goals, Jones says, is to include a mix of hard-to-achieve resolutions with more accessible ones.
"Implement 'base goals' and 'stretch goals,' " she says. "A base goal is a goal you have minimal doubt about completing this year. A stretch goal is a goal that takes you out of your comfort zone and usually represents a theme you’re trying to embody."
Jones says that, because she knows she will cross several items off her card each years, she always adds some "delusional" goals to the mix.
"I love having giant 'dream come true' goals on there like 'Get a literary agent,' 'Get cast in a movie,' 'Get my romcom screenplay produced,' and 'Get a book deal,' " she says. "By having these goals on there, I get to chip away at them little by little even if I don’t cross all of them off."
She continues: "The bingo goals method is a lesson in audacity and putting yourself out there no matter how lofty, delusional, cringey or impossible your dreams might sound."
Jones adds that she herself has already been rewarded for boldly putting her own goals out there.
"I said that I wanted to go to Greece in my bingo card video (which was delusional at the time, since I didn’t have international vacation money), but Delta Airlines saw my video and gave me two free roundtrip tickets to Greece," she says. "I was convinced that things like this only happened to girls with millions of followers and would never happen to me, but once it did, it changed my entire outlook and made me believe that I could have the life of my dreams. Anything is possible if you put yourself out there."
When she creates her own bingo card each year, Jones asks herself: "What hobbies do I want to try? What do I want to experience? What do I want to see? What would I do if I knew no one would laugh at me?" she shares.
Among the goals she crossed off in previous years? Go to a concert (she went to Beyoncé's Renaissance tour), vacation within the U.S. (she went on three trips), try eight new restaurants and go dancing.
"A good blend ensures that your year is balanced and that you don’t burn yourself out trying to accomplish goals that may take years to complete. A mix also just makes it easier to win bingo," she says.
This year, she says in a new video that she wants to make two separate cards: one with nine squares, and one with 25 squares.
"Because," she explains, "I have a lot of career goals, fitness and finance goals — but I have also have a lot of silly, goofy, side-quest goals. And I feel like it's going to take up too much of the card. So why not have two?"
Those big goals, she explains in the video, include things like write a screenplay. And the "side quests" are things like going ice skating for the first time ever, and traveling to both Italy and Barcelona.

Jones says she urges others creating resolutions bingo cards to reward themselves with every goal they achieve, even if it's small.
"I want to encourage people to still be proud of themselves even if they didn’t get bingo. That’s why I urge people to reward themselves after they complete each square, and not just when they hit bingo," she says. "This increases motivation and inspires you to tackle the next goal now that you have proven to yourself that you can set a goal and achieve it."
