One woman is sharing why she is no longer invited to be a part of her friend's bridal party.

In a now-viral TikTok video that's amassed more than 3 million views, a woman named Claire, who goes by the username @_chitch, shares how she got kicked out of a former friend's bridal party because she wasn't able to afford the "very expensive" bachelorette party.

In the video, she explains that the Chicago-based party included bottle service at a nightclub, Tao, and an expensive pre-fixe menu at a restaurant called Maple & Ash.

"The bride never asked any of the girls our budgets, what we were able to spend during this and she was also having a destination wedding to a very expensive destination." Claire says in the video. "It wasn't until after the Airbnb was booked and paid for that we were told what all the activities would be."

"Going all in for the bachelorette would have cost about what my mortgage costs," she adds. "So I spoke with the bride about my discomfort with spending this much money and essentially we came to the conclusion that I simply cannot afford it."

Although Claire didn't attend the party, she says how while the weekend was happening, word got back to her that her friend was speaking poorly of her. Eventually, she ended up getting kicked out of the bridal party, too.

She adds how recently, the wedding took place, and she learned more drama and a bigger fallout unfolded between the bride and the rest of the bridesmaids. She explained in a follow-up TikTok that the bride posted a poll on her Instagram story asking if other brides have had trouble with friends after weddings, and saying that weddings show who your real friends are.

"I just love being on the right side of history here," Claire says.

Since posting, more than 8,000 people have chimed into the original conversation, adding their thoughts on the situation, many agreeing with her that weddings have gotten out of control.

"Normalize local one day bachelorette parties," one user comments.

"No one should be going into debt or broke to make someone else’s “dream” come true. Wedding culture has gotten out of control," someone else writes.

Another person responds, "I am of the opinion that if it’s your party, you pay the tab. You want to ball out, ball out, but be able to pay for your bridal party - Treat the women in your life that support you! Anybody else?"
