Yes, Hailey Bieber's vintage Mugler Coachella vest was also worn by Bella Hadid
A lot of things get Coachella attendees sweating at the annual California music festival. There’s the glare of the desert sun, long lines at the portable loos, and crowds full of thousands of dancing bodies. But, when it comes to Hailey Bieber, there’s one factor in particular that’s bringing the heat: her inimitable festival style.
In a series of photos recently shared to her Instagram, Bieber looked fiery in a vintage Mugler top. The form-fitting piece featured alternating shades of oxblood and cherry red leather while the plunging neckline was framed by blaze-shaped panels. Bieber let her top do most of the talking, pairing the statement vest with some black pants from Gimaguas and an array of gold jewellery—including a diamond-embellished Piaget timepiece.
In other photos, the Rhode founder kept cool in a slinky little black dress with a gaping backless silhouette. She styled the look minimally, simply adding a black pair of kitten heeled thong sandals from Toteme, black Saint Laurent shades, and the very same vintage Piaget watch.
As unique as Mugler's designs are, this particular leather vest has been worn before by none other than fellow model Bella Hadid, who stepped out in the archival piece back in September 2022. On that occasion, Hadid wore the iconic red flame vest as part of full leather-clad look, styling it with skin-tight leather pants, an oversized leather jacket, black knee-high boots and a leopard print bag.
Mugler continues to reign as the popular choice when celebrities and their stylists go digging into the fashion archives. There was of course Zendaya's unforgettable chrome armour suit, which she wore for the Dune 2 premiere in London last year. More recently, Selena Gomez opted for a vintage velvet black Mugler mini dress - a piece which possessed its own rich history, having been previously worn by Natalie Portman and Sydney Sweeney.
Bieber—who attended this year’s festival with husband Justin Bieber and friends Kylie and Kendall Jenner—previously opened up about her approach to dressing up in an interview for the Harper’s Bazaar US September 2022 cover story. “I get photographed so much that I feel like sometimes I put pressure on myself,” she said. “Even if I’m just throwing on jeans and a T-shirt, I want it to be a dope pair of jeans and a great T-shirt!”
