Young man’s impassioned pep talk on TikTok preaches self-love: ‘Do you hear me?’
A young man’s TikTok has gone viral for the inspiring message it is sending during a precarious time.
On July 4, a user with the handle @faceonlyamothercouldlove shared a clip of himself bursting through the door with an incredibly determined look. What follows is a heartfelt speech that calls on others to embrace themselves.
“Let me tell you something. First of all, look down. Ain’t no hashtags under here,” the man, dressed in a turtleneck, begins, referencing the common use of hashtags that help get a TikTok clip on the popular “For You” page. “This is on your ‘For You’ page because it’s meant for you to see.”
“All I want to do is let you know how beautiful you look today,” the man continues. “Okay? Keep moving forward. I know life get hard. Trust me, but I need you to get up every day and make every day count.”
The TikTok user, however, isn’t done just yet.
“Do you hear me?” he asks. “I love you. If nobody has told you lately, let me be the first: I love you. I appreciate you and I cherish you and all I’m asking for, is for you to feel the same exact way about your beautiful self.”
The man then ends the clip on a positive note.
“You have a good day today,” he says. “Do you hear me? I love you.”
The clip has since received over 8 million views and more than 200,000 comments.
“We must protect this man at all costs,” one person wrote in response.
“This right here is some seriously aggressive positivity and I am here for it 100%,” another added.
“Why am I crying and finally getting up out of bed to make myself food even though it’s like 4 p.m.” a third asked. “I needed you today.”
