Tell Me Why You've Decided To Remove Alcohol From Your Life (Whether It's For The Month Or For Forever)
Since it's a new year, and many of us are trying to make better, healthier choices for ourselves, I'm sure I'm not the only one whose For You Page on TikTok is primarily filled with people talking about their decision to either do dry January (a phrase coined for when you completely give up drinking alcohol for the month of January) or embark on a longer sobriety journey.
The sober curious movement has been around for a few years now, and so many alcohol companies are now offering alcohol-free alternative drinks. So, while this might be a popular month for people to skip drinking alcohol (myself included), it seems like the amount of people wanting to eliminate alcohol completely from their lives continues to be on the rise.
I'm turning to the BuzzFeed Community to ask those participating in dry January or those who have decided to be sober indefinitely, what made you decide? Have you noticed any difference in your health and day-to-day lives? How has your overall experience without drinking been?
Maybe your body reacts differently to alcohol these days compared to when you were younger, so you decided to ditch it for the month and you're amazed at how much money you've already saved.
Perhaps you decided to give up drinking completely and have noticed your health has already improved.
Or maybe you're over waking up horribly hungover on a weekend morning and now appreciate waking up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.
Whatever your experience has been like so far with alcohol out of your life, I want to hear more about it. Share it all with me in this anonymous form or in the comments below.
