Zac Efron Thanks Late ‘17 Again’ Co-Star Matthew Perry During Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony
Zac Efron is the latest celeb to be honored with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Iron Claw actor took the opportunity to thank everyone who made a mark on him throughout his career at the ceremony on Monday, December 11. He notably shouted out his late 17 Again co-star, Matthew Perry, during his acceptance speech.
Zac said the Friends alum was "so kind and generous" with him when they worked on the comedy film together in 2009. As for what it was like to work with Matthew and director Burr Steers, Zac said the experience "was so much fun and really did propel me and motivate me in so many ways. It really pushed me into the next chapter of my career."
"And for that, thank you so much, Matthew," he added. "Thinking about you a lot today."
Per People, one of Matthew's friends recently revealed that he had wanted to make a movie about his life where Zac played the lead role. Zac said it would be an "honor" to take on the role of Matthew in a potential biopic. "He was a mentor to me," Zac said. "I looked up to him. I learned comedic timing from that guy. When we were filming 17 Again, it was so surreal for me to look across and have him be there, because I've learned so much from him, from his whole life."
