At 41 years old, Zara Tindall has just about done it all: She's an international style icon, has three beautiful children, and has an Olympic medal. Queen Elizabeth's first granddaughter is a member of the royal family, but her poise goes far beyond Buckingham Palace. If these snapshots of Zara's life through the years prove anything, it's that this decorated equestrian has made an incredible name for herself in her own right.

Zara Anne Elizabeth Phillips was born on May 15, 1981 to Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. Her mother, daughter of Queen Elizabeth, chose not to give Zara a royal title at birth—something Zara has since called herself "very lucky" for, since it allowed her to have a normal childhood.

The three-year-old knew how to work the cameras early on. She flashes a smile at photographers, while cheering on her uncle at a polo match in Windsor.

Later that month, Zara wore a flower crown and white dress with bows as a bridesmaid in the wedding of Richard Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax and Zara Legge-Bourke (the sister of a royal nanny).

Zara observed the crowd from Buckingham Palace's balcony at the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony. The kid standing next to her is—you guessed it—Prince William.

The following year, Zara stood on the balcony, yet again, for the Trooping the Colour. This time, she sported a hat to match both her mother and Princess Diana, who was holding a baby Prince Harry.

Along with her brother, Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Harry, Zara waves to onlookers from the Royal Yacht Britannia. It was their last family trip to Balmoral Castle in Scotland aboard the famous ship, before it was decommissioned later that year.

The following year, Zara solemnly arrived at her great-grandmother's funeral. The Queen Mother passed away at age 101.

Zara grew up especially close to her cousin Prince William, due to their one-year age difference. Here, they goof off at the bicycle portion of the Jockeys vs. Eventers charity polo match at Tidworth Polo Club in Wiltshire.

After being recognized for having a great sense of style, Zara began scoring invitations to designer shows in her early 20s. She attended the Renaissance Collection Fashion Show by Louis Mariette in London in 2003.

Zara took a leap of faith with her favorite horse, Toytown, at the show jumping event of the advance 1 group during the Doubleprint Festival of British Eventing. The esteemed competition was just one of many she participated in during this time.

At Boyd's Spring/Summer 2004 Collection showcase, Zara had her eyes on the runway. The event was part of London Fashion Week.

Just because she's a royal, doesn't mean she can't have some fun. Zara and her now-husband, Mike Tindall, attended the celebrity screening of Meet the Fockers at the Covent Garden Hotel in London.

Zara was given the Equestrian Athlete of the Year award at Queen's House in London. It was her aunt, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, that presented her with the honor.

Just one month later, the equestrian received yet another major award for being the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Zara made England proud when she took home the silver at London's 2012 Summer Olympics. Her mother famously presented her with the medal. Fun fact: Princess Anne was the first British royal to ever compete in the Olympics back in 1976, in the very same sport as her daughter.

Zara and her mother sported chic winter looks as they attended the Cheltenham Festival. The annual racing event was a perfect place to enjoy their shared love of horses.

Zara helped launch the Range Rover WISE scholarship program to help young women pursue careers in engineering. She celebrated the big day by driving a Range Rover through a special course at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Just a few months after welcoming her first child, Zara was back at the riding arena. Here, she is seen carrying her daughter Mia around at the SYMM International Horse Trials—her first competition back after giving birth.

The royal launched her own luxury jewelry line with Calleija in 2015. She later shared her top priority while designing The Zara Phillips Collection was creating "wearable" jewelry for "the modern woman."
