Zendaya, Chrissy Teigen, Kim Kardashian: Vote on celebrity fashion of the week to pick the best and worst red carpet looks
Ceremonies, galas and awards events were full of A-list stars this week.
Over the past week, some of the biggest names in entertainment graced ceremonies, galas and awards events with their presence. From Zendaya to Kim Kardashian, A-list stars were out and about celebrating everything from The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to style creatives.
But with such high-profile events came lots of commotion about celebrity style — and we're asking you, Yahoo Canada readers, to share your thoughts. Between the many ruffles, puffy skirts and skin-revealing garments we've seen lately, there's much to discuss about red carpet fashion.
On the good side, stars like Lana Del Rey, Chrissy Teigen, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Kaia Gerber — along with Zendaya — wore fantastic looks that leave us craving more. But on the other hand, we were disappointed by style choices from celebrities including Kardashian, Ayo Edebiri, Reneé Rapp, Lashana Lynch and Kate Beckinsale.
Below, read more about some of the best and worst celebrity looks we've seen over the past week. Then, let us hear your opinion: Who were the best and worst-dressed stars of this week? Cast your vote below.
BEST DRESSED: Zendaya
Zendaya channelled Cher for the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony last Saturday, wearing a look that was almost as iconic as, well, the Goddess of Pop herself. The 28-year-old actress showed up to the event wearing a tribute look that featured a glittering gold vintage Bob Mackie gown. The piece featured an open bodice and straps, resembling a look Cher wore from the designer in 1972.
WORST DRESSED: Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian can easily pull out a chic red carpet look, but the outfit she wore for the Academy Museum Gala last Saturday falls into her category of fashion misses. The 44-year-old star's all-white vintage Mugler ensemble featured a cleavage-baring corset and a long coat from the French label's 1998 couture collection. But what was an iconic fashion moment back then doesn't necessarily translate as notable today.
BEST DRESSED: Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey's style has always catered towards the vintage, and her team-up with Valentino for the InStyle Imagemaker Awards on Thursday proved she's on the right fashion track. The 39-year-old singer wore an off-white dress that featured numerous tiers of scalloped ruffles, pairing the piece with a fur coat and a stylish up-do hairstyle.
WORST DRESSED: Ayo Edebiri
Ayo Edebiri might be a Hollywood darling, but she's far from succeeding when it comes to the realm of fashion. The 29-year-old actress wore a couture Thom Browne look for the Academy Museum Gala last Saturday, featuring a off-white dress that mixed and matched too many patterns. The dress had a bustier-style bodice on top of an asymmetrical, ruffled, tiered skirt that poses too many questions.
BEST DRESSED: Chrissy Teigen
It's hard to not look incredible in mostly any garment when you're a former model, but Chrissy Teigen should be given her flowers for the chic ensemble she wore for the InStyle Imagemaker Awards on Thursday. The 38-year-old star stepped out in a ready-to-wear Tom Ford halter neck black dress that featured sheer panels and a sultry pop of cleavage.
WORST DRESSED: Reneé Rapp
Reneé Rapp typically opts for a tomboy look when it comes to her fashion, so it's unfortunate the more feminine ensemble she wore to the Academy Museum Gala last Saturday lands her on the worst dressed list. The 24-year-old singer wore a satin white dress that could've provided a cute moment, but the odd black sheer sleeve element added to her outfit was a confusing style choice.
BEST DRESSED: Da'Vine Joy Randolph
Da'Vine Joy Randolph looked regal in the Louis Vuitton gown she wore to the Academy Museum Gala last Saturday. The 38-year-old actress stunned in the baby pink off-the-shoulder dress, which featured a satin bodice and a voluminous skirt that protruded out at the hips.
WORST DRESSED: Lashana Lynch
Lashana Lynch looked less than glamorous for the premiere of The Day of the Jackal on Tuesday, wearing a Lurline midnight blue dress that is hard to look at. The 36-year-old Bond girl stunned neck up, but the strapless, puffy gown wasn't necessarily what we'd call top-tier fashion.
BEST DRESSED: Kaia Gerber
Kaia Gerber has been killing the fashion game lately, and the black vintage piece she wore to the Academy Museum Gala last Saturday was enough for us to say we're big fans. The 23-year-old model stunned in a dress from Alexander McQueen's 1997 couture collection for Givenchy that featured beaded sleeves and a semi-sheer skirt, a look that references Audrey Hepburn's ball gown in My Fair Lady.
WORST DRESSED: Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale went a bit too theatrical for the look she wore for Variety's Power of Women event on Thursday. The 51-year-old actress wore a satin pink mini dress featuring a laced corset and a puff ball skirt that gave off a very odd silhouette.
