Zendaya Wore a 'Dune'-Inspired Crop Top and Utilitarian Skirt Set on the Red Carpet
'Dune' is the new 'Barbie.'
Another day, another intergalactic look from Zendaya. After channeling Chani during a Dune: Part Two photo call with a skirt and top set made of scarves, the actress attended another event in Mexico City in a brown Bottega Veneta outfit that looked native to Arrakis (aka the planet in Dune for the sci-fi amateurs).
The actress arrived on the on-theme sand-colored carpet in a chocolatey underboob-baring structured turtleneck crop top and a matching utilitarian maxiskirt with faux pockets, thigh-high slits on either side (and in the back), and a high-waisted leather midsection. She and longtime stylist Law Roach paired the ensemble with matching pointed-toe Christian Louboutin pumps and accessorized with a smattering of rings, an anklet, and stud earrings.

Zendaya's hair was styled in a deep side part, pushed behind her ears, and tucked under in the back to create a mock bob look. In the glam department, she kept things cohesive with bronzed contour, a smoked-out winged liner, and a beige lip.
During the event, Zendaya was joined by her Dune co-stars, including Austin Butler, Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin, and Florence Pugh, who also brought her fashion A-game in a white Standing Ground gown with a skin-tight, high-neck top and an ultra-ruched, draped, and floor-grazing skirt. The men looked dapper, as well, with Chalamet wearing a gray Prada suit with a cropped jacket and Butler sporting a black-and-white Saint Laurent pinstripe jacket and trousers.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the four co-stars revealed that they have become friends since filming the second installment of the popular Dune franchise, based on the book by Frank Herbert. "Speaking personally, I have great friendships with everyone here," Chalamet said about Zendaya, Pugh, and Butler. Zendaya went on to recall her first interaction with Chalamet, which happened at an airport when she took a tumble.
"We were on the same flight, and I fell in the airport," Zendaya remembered. "And that was technically our first meeting."
Chalamet was not the perfect gentleman during the awkward scuffle, admitting he did not lend Zendaya a helping hand. "No, I ignored," he said with a laugh before defending his choice. "I didn't know her! I didn't know what to do."
