27 Genius Halloween Costume Ideas In Case You're Dressing Up With Family, Friends, Or A Significant Other
It's Halloween week, meaning it's crunch time to get those costumes together.
I recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to share the best family, group, and couples Halloween costumes they've ever seen. Here's what they had to say, in addition to a few suggestions of my own, in case you're looking for some last-minute inspo:
1."The best couples' costume I've seen was a puppet and puppetmaster, and they went around the party all night as if the puppetmaster was controlling the puppet. They beat my partner and me in the couples' costume competition. We were Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett and got second place.
2."My friend dressed up as a cowgirl. I dressed in black with a black cowgirl hat and walked behind her as her shadow."
3."One year, my friends and I were all grocery store item characters like the Morton Salt Girl, the Sunbeam baby, and Peter Pan peanut butter."
4."Channel ~spooky~ Bride of Chucky vibes as Chucky and Tiffany.
5."Go go as the Power Rangers. The hardest part? Finding who will wear each color because chances are you already have one in mind that someone else might want."
6."My toddler was Ariel, her dad was Prince Eric, and I was Ursula from The Little Mermaid."
7."While Lydia Deetz's lace red wedding dress is perfect on its own, you can easily make it a couples costume by adding Beetlejuice to the mix."
8."It's hard to beat Barbie and Ken as a couples' costume."
9."Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup from The Powerpuff Girls in case you were obsessed with this fan-favorite childhood cartoon."
10."Grab your bestie and dress up as '90s icons Cher and Dionne from Clueless."
11."Lock, Shock, and Barrel from The Nightmare Before Christmas is a must for those who love Halloween as much as the next holiday."
12."Become an honorary member of the Hellfire Club from Stranger Things."
13."When I was a baby, my siblings, and some family friends' kids were a BLT! I was the lettuce."
14."If you have a toddler, there's nothing cuter than a Monsters Inc. family costume. Parents can dress up as Mike and Sulley with Boo being the star of scare floor."
15."All you need to get the Heathers look? Hit the thrift store for some '80s blazers and matching skirts. Make sure the shoulder pads are included to really nail it."
16."The Sanderson sisters are always fun."
17."Princess Leia and Han Solo for the Star Wars fanatics that still quote the line: 'I love you. I know.'"
18."Golden Girls!"
19."Celebrate your love for Toy Story and Pixar by dressing up as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the gang from Andy's room."
20."Conquer the world of Nintendo as Princess Peach and Super Mario."
21."Nigel, David, and Derek from Spinal Tap."
22."A group costume where you can still stand out as an individual? Iconic Disney princesses and characters."
23."My three friends and I are being the Telletubbies this year."
24."Go solve some Halloween mysteries as Daphne, Fred, Velma, and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo."
25."I want a group to dress up as Team Cockroach from The Good Place. I want to be Janet after a reset, and any time someone asks or says anything I'm not interested in, I will hand them a cactus (aka Eleanor Shellstrop's file) or a glass of water."
26."I once had two friends dress up as Wednesday Addams and Thing. He wore an all-black suit covering his face, only leaving a singular hand exposed that rested on Wednesday's shoulder. This was easily one of the best costumes of the night."
27."In college, my friends and I dressed up as characters from Mean Girls. I dressed as Regina George and one girl decided to go as a school bus. I jokingly asked if she was going to run me over AND SHE DID! She ran into me and knocked me over (out of love) and it was amazing. 10/10 one of the funniest Halloween reenactments I've ever seen."
