At New York Fashion Week, you might come for the fashion, but might be staying for the beauty trends. For makeup and hair to stand out against all the stunning fabrics, colorful patterns, and bold silhouettes, it has to be pretty impressive. Still, the makeup and hair artists behind the scenes manage to pull off looks that make a mark of their own while highlighting the designer’s work.
Off the runway, attendees try to match that energy as well. To go with their most fashion-forward outfits, the celebs, influencers, buyers, and editors in the front rows do their best beauty routines. After all, you never know when you’ll be captured by street style photographers.
Both on and off the runway, Teen Vogue editors spotted some up-and-coming beauty trends. Below, read all about the hot new makeup and hair routines.
Baby Pink Lips
If you're having a hard time choosing a lip color, think pink, whether a warm-toned gloss, like Suni Lee’s, or a cool-toned matte, like on Sandy Liang’s models.
Glowing Skin
It can be glass skin or cloud skin, but either way, hydrated, glowing skin is in! We spotted it on the Bach Mai and Prabal Gurung runways. To get the look, do your skin care routine and opt for glowy base makeup.
Slicked-Back Buns and Ponytails
Since it just got the NYFW stamp of approval, it looks like this trend isn’t going anywhere soon. Look to Carolina Herrera and Ralph Lauren to get inspiration.
Fun Sunnies
After years of sleek glasses, it looks like we’re getting a little quirky. Collina Strada sent sunglasses in different fun shapes and colors down the runway. Lola Tung was also seen in the front rows sporting unique styles.
Satin Lipstick
Tired of gloss? No problem. Satin lips were spotted all around NYFW this season, from the Bach Mai runway to Storm Reid’s front row look for Coach.
