This $8 Million Vineyard Estate in Mexico Sits Amid Polo Fields and Olive Trees

Located in Mexico’s central highlands, the colorful 16th-century city of San Miguel de Allende is revered for its old-world charm. Colonial-era architecture spans the area, alongside fine-dining spots and luxury hotels by esteemed brands like Rosewood. Those hoping to immerse themselves more permanently in the municipality’s rich culture, however, might find an $8 million vineyard estate that’s part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site to be the eco-friendly oasis of their Mexican real estate dreams.

Dubbed Ketsali Armonia, the 3.3-acre estate was custom-built and designed by the Dallas, Texas-based developer Ketsali International. The 10,000-square-foot mansion sprawls out alongside a lush vineyard, along with a number of amenities featured within its gated enclave, such as three restaurants, polo fields, horse stables, and riding areas. Special features of the seven-bedroom abode, like a home theater and swimming pool, will keep guests entertained, and nature lovers will find its natural surroundings of olive trees and lavender fields to be soothing.

Ketsali Armonia pool and spa views
The house spills out to the pool and spa, where a TV pops up from a stone planter.

A cobbled courtyard ahead of the home’s gated entry welcomes visitors onto the grounds and is somewhat reminiscent of San Miguel de Allende’s buzzy streets. The Spanish-style stone façade is flanked by greenery leading up to the arched front door. Soaring ceilings throughout the home come into focus from the formal living room, which includes a large stone fireplace. The home’s bold contrast between exposed wood beams and stone floors makes the gleaming stainless-steel appliances pop in the eat-in chef’s kitchen.

Elsewhere, the primary bedroom is complemented by a modern en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the room with two sets of sliding doors that open out to a private balcony. Furniture and artwork made specifically for the home, according to the listing, can be seen when venturing on to spots like the dedicated whiskey bar, fitness center, home theater, or wine cellar and tasting room that’s set under a barrel-vaulted brick ceiling.

Stepping out onto the backyard, additional resort-like amenities appear. The step-entry pool and spa are two key outdoor amenities offered at Ketsali Armonia. The custom tile work featured in the pool takes the shape of a bird, among other things, while a TV rises out of a stone plinth opposite the spa. Two outdoor fireplaces are set nearby, along with ample lounge seating and a covered outdoor dining area.

As far as the home’s sustainability measures go, strategies aimed at water, energy, and soil conservation help align it with the preservation of San Miguel de Allende. Yana Beranek of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties holds the listing.
