Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo's Love Story Absolutely Needs to Be Made Into a Rom Com

Adam Levine is many things to many people — the Grammy-winning lead singer of Maroon 5, a former coach on The Voice, a Super Bowl halftime performer and a co-executive producer of Songland, to name a few. But outside of his thriving rockstar career, he is a dedicated husband to Behati Prinsloo and girl dad to daughters Dusty Rose, 4, and Gio Grace, 3.

Adam and Behati's love story goes back to 2012. At the time, Adam was enjoying a lot of success, having just joined The Voice one year prior and celebrating Maroon 5's singles "Moves Like Jagger" and "Payphone" becoming worldwide hits. Meanwhile, Behati was also at the top of her modeling career. Country Living reports that the Namibian model became the face of Victoria's Secret "Pink" label in 2007 and became an Angel for the brand one year later.

According to Style Caster, their paths first crossed over email. "Adam was looking for a girl for a music video that could do some action stuff, and our friend was like, ‘You should meet Behati because she’s a total tomboy and down for anything,’ so he emailed me asking if I could do it," Behati recalled to the outlet.

In the end, Behati didn't end up appearing in the music video, but their emails kept going. Eventually, the outlet reports that the two "fell in love online." A month of email correspondence later, Adam and Behati finally decided to meet in person at a dark studio where Adam was boxing.

"I went to L.A. for a job, and that was the first time we met in person,” Behati explained. "I remember walking in: I opened the door, and it was the classic moment where the light shines into the dark studio and everyone turned to look at me. He had boxing gloves on and he came to hug me — it was so awkward."

But awkwardness aside, there was something more there. The story goes that they went out to dinner after that and "talked for hours." And the rest, as they say, is history.

"It was love at first sight, it was crazy. We broke up for two months, realized that it was the worst decision, then got back together, got engaged and got married. It was a wild ride!" Behati dished.

While appearing on Live With Kelly and Michael in June 2014, Adam recalled how nervous he was to pop the big question to the model. "[It] doesn’t matter how certain you think you are. You still get down on that knee and you just get woozy and you’re like, 'I’m doing this. Oh my God.' And you can’t be confident about it. It’s impossible," Adam shared.

He continued: "I’m a confident person, but I got down on that knee and everything changed immediately. I lost my equilibrium. I had to get on the other one."

One month later, Adam and Behati walked down the aisle at Flora Farms in Los Cabos, Mexico. Right away, Adam made it clear that he was excited to start a family with his new bride. "I want to have 100 kids," Adam once joked with Ryan Seacrest in August 2014. "I want to have more kids than is socially responsible. We can’t do it right now, but it’s in the works.”

On September 21, 2016, the pair became parents after welcoming their daughter, Dusty Rose, into the world. In 2018, they became parents of two girls when Gio Grace was born.

Today, it's clear Adam has so much fun with his girls. Apart from having Gio and Dusty join him on tours or appear in his music videos from time to time, he also enjoys spending time with them at home. In April, the Maroon 5 frontman made headlines for posting a photo of his entire family in matching dresses. The caption for the adorable post read, "girls just wanna have fun 💅🏻."

After quitting The Voice in 2019, Adam told Ellen DeGeneres that he is now a proud stay-at-home dad. "I was constantly working for so many years — very lucky, very fortunate, very blessed and all that — but to just be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever," he told Ellen.

Adam later added, "I’m obsessed with them," he continued. "I genuinely just adore them in a way I never knew I could adore any little person."
