If you feel like the walls are closing in on you, you’re not alone. Spending more time living and working within the same walls every day can begin to feel monotonous pretty quickly.

While you can open the windows, go outside for one walk a day and practice meditation, sometimes the air that surrounds you can feel stale and claustrophobic. If you’re looking to revamp your space or breathe a bit more life into your home, NASA has one tip on how to do it: plants.

A lack of airflow indoors can cause indoor air pollution to build up and even worse? Your furnishings, carpets and walls can hold toxins too. Whether you have an air purifier or not, a recent NASA study recommends seven plants that will help clear out toxins in the air, suggesting one plant per 100 square feet to efficiently detox the air.

Not only will your space look nice thanks to a congregation of greens, these plants will make breathing easier for those with health conditions such as asthma and allergies. Shop the seven detoxifying plants recommended by NASA below.
