Airbnb, a company that provides short-term property rentals, has acknowledged that a home in which a teenager was severely injured was listed on its site. A video went viral showing the first floor at the home collapsing during a house party at the property, located on North 26th Street in Richmond, Va.

According to WRTV, more than 100 guests attended the party, causing the floor to give way and to collapse into the basement. A teenage girl was injured in the incident.

“Our thoughts are with the victims of this tragedy,” a spokesperson for Airbnb told the news outlet. “We have suspended this listing as we continue to investigate what transpired here. While incidents like this are rare, we take the safety of our community very seriously and will take appropriate action.”

Since the house party, city officials have condemned the property, which was built in the late 1860s, according to the news outlet.

Lora Price, who lives two doors away from the home, as well as other neighbors, assumed that the home was being used as a rental, given the number of people who were using the property. While Price tells the news outlet that she has never been bothered by any of the renters, she was shocked at finding emergency crews on her street after the incident.

“I think you would have felt a little bit like you were just under total assault if you were partying and then, suddenly, a floor collapsed,” Price said.

Price also shared that she’s worried about the amount of construction that will occur in her neighborhood. “Yeah, it’s loud,” Price told the outlet.

WRTV reports that city officials say that if legal action is taken it would be a civil matter, since the incident occurred at a private residence.
