Allure Philippines Is Coming in 2025
Allure Philippines
The Allure name has been associated with beauty expertise for decades, steering the conversation and cutting through the noise with insider insight, a scrutinizing eye on trends, and a commitment to veracity. With the March 2025 print, digital, and social launch of Allure Philippines—the third international edition of Allure—the title expands its reach and accessibility with an English-language platform that uniquely speaks to a diverse Filipino beauty community. And with that launch comes the leadership of an editor in chief who reflects the beauty expertise and passion of the legacy she joins.
Rissa Mananquil Trillo has been named editor in chief of Allure Philippines; she brings with her a list of accomplishments that bolster her spot at the helm of the title. A Philippines native, Trillo attended both the Asian Institute of Management and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. In addition to being a columnist for The Philippine Star, she was president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) for five years, has served as a gender equality advocate with the United Nations, and wrote a best-selling book, Read My Lips: What It Takes to Be a World-Class Homegrown Brand. In 2017, Trillo was named Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017 by EOY Philippines, and in 2021 her contributions to beauty and fashion earned her an Asia's Most Influential title from Tatler.
Needless to say, Trillo's achievements make her uncommonly qualified to lead a magazine, but it's her vision that makes her an especially perfect fit for Allure's newest edition.
"The beauty landscape in the Philippines is thriving, with consumer interest growing exponentially, thanks to technology making everything accessible. With just a tap on our phones, we can learn about every beauty product imaginable," Trillo tells Allure. “However, the sheer volume of content has caused an ‘infodemic’ in the local beauty industry, where misinformation spreads as quickly as the latest trend.” It's an issue beauty consumers everywhere can relate to, and Trillo wants to guide Filipino readers to an undoubtedly reliable source.
"We’re here to fill the trust gap in the local beauty industry—to become a credible, expert-driven voice in a sea of mixed messaging," Trillo says. “While influencers often drive discovery, our focus is on delivering honest, credible, and transparent beauty content that blends global expertise with local relevance, empowering readers to make informed beauty decisions.
Trillo says Filipinos value unbiased insights and want to feel educated, not just persuaded. “They’re curious but discerning, seeking products and tips that fit effortlessly into their lifestyles. For them, beauty is about enhancing their natural features, not conforming to traditional standards,” she says. “What sets our readers apart is their appreciation for creativity, authenticity, and inclusivity. They value beauty that feels personal and empowering—a reflection of their individuality and the ever-evolving ideals of what beauty truly means.”
Ultimately Trillo's goals—and the Allure Philippines objective—align with what Allure has always stood for, with special attentiveness for a Filipino audience that she says spans generations but is united by a genuine enthusiasm for beauty and wellness.
“We’re bringing that legacy of excellence, editorial integrity, and authenticity to Allure Philippines while blending it with local relevance to empower and inspire Filipino consumers,” Trillo says. "What excites me most is the chance to make this platform uniquely ours by championing homegrown talent, celebrating Filipino beauty, and empowering individuals across the country—all while elevating Filipino beauty on the global stage."
