I've tested the waters with a few new formulas here and there — but rarely do I come across something game-changing enough to make me want to swap out my longtime core beauty products.

But after weeks of scrolling through TikTok and being amazed by the results of one particular clear brow styling wax, I decided to finally sign up for the waitlist for the cult-favourite Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Freeze ($30).

Following the weeks of back-to-back sellouts, I finally got my hands on this coveted formula, and since then, I haven't looked back. So much so that I've made three orders since April in case it sells out again.

As a huge fan of feathered brows, this easy-to-use, universal wax lifts and tames every hair to sculpt your eyebrows for that full, fluffy laminated brow look in just a single swipe. And unlike the soapy wax and gel formula's I've used in the past, Brow Freeze actually locks in even the most stubborn hairs for an all-day hold without leaving any dried up residue.

How I get the best brows ever

While Brow Freeze alone does seem to magically boost the look of your arches for Zoom calls and those lazy, barely-there makeup looks, I prefer to use the product as a primer to give them more dimension and to lay layout the groundwork for the shading products that follow. Thanks to this formula, I can create the brows of my dreams in three easy steps.

Step 1

Pick up a small amount of the clear formula by running a spoolie back and forth on the surface of it. You can use a dual-ended brow brush, but I've been using a pack of colour spoolies from Dollarama). Then, brush the product upward onto your brows to instantly create a fuller-looking effect.

Step 2

Because my brow hairs naturally grow in various directions and lengths, I then use a clean small angled brush to line up my brows in the shape I want. Depending on how much coverage I want for my complexion that day, I sometimes use a bit of concealer on the angled brush to sharpen the look.

While many makeup lovers like to clean up the shape of their brows at the very end of their look, I prefer to do this before applying any shading products to avoid creating a bold and glam brow look. Brow Freeze instantly creates the look of fuller brows by emphasizing your brow hairs, so I only like to shade in the brows where ever it is needed.

Step 3

Now that my brows are in shape and I have a clearer picture of sparse areas, I like to use the Benefit Cosmetics Microfiling Eyebrow Pen ($33) to create hair-like strokes. Unlike a typical brow pencil, this pen creates the illusion of natural brow hair with three ultra-fine lines in a single stroke. The finish magically blends in with existing hairs.

What others are saying

Worth the hype, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze is already backed by more than 80,000 "loves" and 1,300 reviews on Sephora Canada with customers raving about its holding power.

"I never knew my brows could do such things. A little goes a long way, and the product makes your brows stay put. So easy to use as well. I love it," says one five-star reviewer.

"I love, LOVE this stuff! It makes my eyebrows look double the thickness, and I no longer have to fill them in with the pomade. I get asked all the time who does my eyebrows because of how neat and clean they look. It’s so easy to work with," echoes another.

On top enhancing my eyebrow and makeup routine, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze has also taught me to take much better care of my products and not rush when it comes to application and storage. I've always been the type of person that never puts the caps or lids back on loose powders, eyeshadows pots and foundations. But after leaving the the pot of the Brow Freeze open for a few hours, it instantly dried up and lost its hold. Be sure to always put the cap back on!
