  • Bindi Irwin was only eight years old when her father, Steve Irwin, died.

  • Now at 21, the young conservationist and Dancing With the Stars winner is estimated to be worth around $3 million.

  • On March 25, 2020, she married longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell at the Australia Zoo.

Not too long ago Bindi Irwin was the animal-loving toddler that appeared on The Crocodile Hunter Diaries with her dad, Steve Irwin, the late conservationist. Now she's an animal-loving 21-year-old that's doing just about everything.

A mirrorball trophy on Dancing With the Stars? Check. Her very own Barbie and meeting with royalty? Check and check.

The only daughter of Steve and his wife, Terri Irwin, Bindi grew up with plenty of animals for playmates. Her grandfather, naturalist Robert Irwin, founded the Australia Zoo, which her mom also now owns. At just eight, she hosted her first wildlife TV series, Bindi the Jungle Girl.

When her dad was killed in 2006 by a stingray barb, she decided to continue his life's work of promoting conservation via television. "I don’t want Daddy’s passion to ever end," she said in her eulogy at his funeral. "I want to help endangered wildlife just like he did."

Bindi's certainly lived up to her promise. She starred in the 2010 movie Free Willy: Escape from Pirate's Cove, and hosted the wildlife-themed Australian game show Bindi's Bootcamp in 2012. She's also released several albums with her band Bindi and the Jungle Girls.

In 2015, Bindi joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars for season 21, receiving special permission from a California judge to compete as a minor. Paired with seasoned pro Derek Hough, the teen salsa-ed her way to a mirrorball trophy win.

“I never knew I would learn so much about rhinestones and glitter and high heels,” she joked afterwards, before getting serious. “The most special part of this experience is to really be able to grow and touch on parts of my life that I never thought I would really go to and be able to share my journey and story with so many others.”

Two years later, Bindi returned to American TV, alongside her mom and younger brother, to compete against actress Chrissy Metz and her relatives on Celebrity Family Feud.

And in October 2018, fans were excited when the Irwin family premiered a new series, Crikey! It's the Irwins on Animal Planet. Together, the trio shares their exciting adventures around the world with amazing animals.

All of those media appearances have paid off. Bindi's worth about $3 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Off-screen, Bindi also puts in plenty of hours at the Australia Zoo and even debuted her very own Barbie earlier that year. Mattel selected the conservationist as the inspiration for one of 17 dolls based on inspiring women. The honor put her among the likes of Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim and filmmaker Patty Jenkins.

Not to mention, Bindi had a brush with British royalty when she met with Prince Charles during his visit to Australia.

“Our family feels extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales,” she wrote on Instagram afterwards. “We joined together to discuss important methods to protect the largest living structure on Earth, the Great Barrier Reef.”

Bindi's social media accounts also feature tons of pics of her with her now-husband Chandler Powell, who she met while giving his family a tour of the Australia Zoo.

After two-plus years of dating, the American recently moved to Australia, and in July 2019, Chandler proposed to Bindi. One year later, on March 25, 2020, the couple exchanged their vows at the Australia Zoo.

“Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens,” Bindi wrote on Instagram. “Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband, and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love.”

Congratulations to the happy couple! We can't wait to see what the two accomplish together next.
