Ariana Grande slams Piers Morgan: 'Women can be sexual and talented'
Ariana Grande has her mom’s back — both online and off.
The 25-year-old singer is jumping to her mother Joan Grande’s defense after she became locked in a Twitter war with controversial news anchor Piers Morgan.
The drama started when Morgan took to social media to call out British girl group, Little Mix, for the music video for their new single, “Strip.” In the video, the group’s naked bodies are covered in slur words, which Morgan called out as a marketing tactic.
A war of the words continued with Little Mix calling the “Good Morning Britain” host a “little twat” during an interview with BBC Radio 1.
If you're brave enough @LittleMix – come on @GMB tomorrow & say when you've just been saying about me on Radio One to my face. Then we can debate your cynical exploitation of nudity to sell records.

Things escalated across the pond when Morgan called out Ellen DeGenerous while simultaneously promoting his recent article for the Daily Mail that calls out “hypocritical radical feminists.”

Yet I've been abused all day for complimenting @hollywills on her legs.
The hypocrisy of modern feminism laid bare..

Grande’s mother took to Twitter calling Morgan out for his negative views regarding Little Mix and Ellen, writing, “Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you don’t have nothing nice to say, don’t say it!”
Honestly what is wrong with you @piersmorgan ? Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it! You came for @TheEllenShow yesterday which was disgraceful, she is an angel. @LittleMix today, did you ever hear of paying homage? And..well never mind https://t.co/5WBOlL8t6O

Never one to back down from a war of the words, Morgan made things personal in his reply, bringing Ariana Grande into the conversation.
“My mother taught me to speak my mind and never be afraid to express honestly held opinion,” Morgan replied.“Ellen’s a hypocrite – and as for Little Mix, I’d just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity. As your own daughter does!”

Grande quickly jumped on Twitter, calling out Morgan for his views writing, “I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because I choose to. Women can be sexual and talented. Naked and dignified. It’s OUR choice.”
Ellen is an incredible & kind human being.. I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice. 🖤 & we will keep fighting til people understand. i say this w all due respect but thank u, next. https://t.co/wSknRSlJN8

Grande didn’t stop there, and made her feelings known to her nearly 59 million Twitter followers.
“I look forward to the day you realize there are other way to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do,” she wrote to the 53-year-old Brit.
also @piersmorgan, i look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it. 🖤

The vocal powerhouse wasn’t done with Morgan just yet, and pulled one of his old tweets from the archives.

Morgan took the entire exchange in stride, making sure that Grande knew that when it comes to sharing his opinions, he’s an equal opportunist.
Now now, young lady – my career's doing just fine thanks.
For the record, I criticise/praise everyone – male, female, gender-fluid.
Indeed, I've written columns praising AND criticising you, and you deserved both. https://t.co/vfsDNqzYLl— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 21, 2018
The dizzying back-and-forth Twitter war ended with an unanswered invitation by Morgan for the pop star and her mother to hash it out on his morning show.
