Ashtin Earle Takes 'Cosmo' Behind-the-Scenes at Paris Haute Couture Week
Ashtin Earle's personal style is more "lazy girl chic" than Parisian chic—but she'll make an exception for Paris Haute Couture Week. "Attending a big fashion show is an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and wear something completely different from my everyday wardrobe," she tells Cosmo. And step out of her comfort zone she definitely did: The 21-year-old college student completely committed to the French It Girl aesthetic for the PATOU Fall-Winter 2025 Runway Show on Sunday...and you'd never know it was her first time attending Paris Haute Couture Week!
The internet's fave cool girl (who, fun fact, is also Alix Earle's younger sis) has been building her career online with mega-viral “Get Ready with Me” videos, and in honor of her first Paris runway show, Ashtin captioned a series of behind-the-scenes pics from her getting-ready process for Cosmopolitan. As she explains, "People might not realize that there is so much time and thought that goes into planning a show beyond just the designs"—and the same could be said for her debut Fashion Week 'fit. Scroll through the photos (and Ashtin's captions describing them) below.
“It really is amazing to see a runway show in real life and nothing compares to Paris fashion. People might not realize that there is so much time and thought that goes into planning a show beyond just the designs. From the music and lighting, to the shape of the runway and the style of seating, you really get to see the creative director’s vision come to life. At the end of the show, everyone claps for the designer and you really feel a sense of camaraderie that might be surprising to people online.”
“My personal style is lazy girl chic. I’m a college student so while I get to dress up for big events like this, at the end of the day, my everyday wardrobe is pretty casual. I’d say most of my outfits are quite simple and effortless, but still cute.”
“When choosing an outfit for an event like this, I really just go with whatever excites me. I love to play with fashion and try new looks and styles. Attending a big fashion show is an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and wear something completely different from my everyday wardrobe.”
“My favorite part of my outfit is the striped neck scarf. It feels very Parisian to me and I was excited to lean into French style while attending my first fashion show in Paris.”
“This is my first Patou runway show, but I love how Guillaume brings playfulness to traditional French styles and silhouettes. His designs feel sophisticated yet youthful.”
“This is only my second time visiting Paris, but I love everything about it: the architecture, the food, the art, the history, the fashion, the people. I don’t think I can pick just one thing! Paris is so special because it’s a perfect balance of all these elements. When I’m here, I love to wander the streets or sit outside at a cafe by myself. I feel like this is the best way to observe and appreciate the city and the culture. I also love the shopping, obviously.”
“My best advice for someone still identifying their own personal style? Don’t follow micro trends. Wear what you feel best in because trying to dress for someone else or as someone else never works.”
