Avril Lavigne is expressing her love for country.

Last month, the "Complicated" singer surprised fans at the Academy of Country Music Awards with a cover of Shania Twain's "No One Needs To Know."

She paired a hooded, cheetah-print jacket with a matching pleated skirt, a black leather vest and black boots. This was seemingly an attempt to put her own spin on Twain's iconic leopard-print catsuit that the country singer wore in her 1998 music video, "That Don't Impress Me Much."

Yesterday, the Canadian pop princess shared a video of her performance at the awards on Instagram.

"ACM Honours Poet Award goes to my Canadian Queen Shania Twain. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all. But, for me especially, I relate to her in so many ways and she has helped me so much throughout my musical journey," the "Sk8r Boi" singer penned in the caption of the post.

"She had a clear vision of who she was. She did the impossible by starting in country music and crossing over to pop. Took creative control. And showed me you can dream big when you are from a small town in Ontario, Canada," the 37-year-old added.

Lavigne also hinted that she might dabble in country music herself.

"So now is it my time to go country? Hehe," she wrote.

Fans were quick to praise the Belleville, Ont.-native for paying homage to a fellow Canadian icon.

"This is a Canadian dream come true," one Instagram user said. "I love this! You should definitely give country music a try, it really suits your voice."

"Yes! We need a country album queen," one fan agreed.

"You sound so good singing country music as well!" another shared. "I got to know Shania because of you."

"Y'all need to collab before I explode!" one person joked.

"Canadian legends. This makes me so happy!" someone else chimed in.

This isn't the first time that Lavigne posted about Shania Twain on social media.

Last month, the punk icon shared a TikTok with her 4.6 million followers. In the video, she lip-synched to Twain's hit song,"Man! I Feel Like A Woman!"

To film the clip, the songwriter rocked a black leather bustier connected to a cheetah-print hood.

"Let’s go, girls," the "Girlfriend" songstress captioned the five-second clip.
