Kate Middleton is in Wales today! The Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, traveled to the country ahead of St. David’s Day for a series of engagements in Pontypridd. It’s just their second engagement together of 2025.
For the occasion, Kate chose a tartan skirt and brown turtleneck, and rewore a red Alexander McQueen coat and brown Gianvito Rossi boots. As Kate and William got off the train, the Princess could be seen carrying a very full leather tote bag.
The bag appears to be Aspinal of London’s East West leather tote, a favorite brand of Kate’s.

East West bags are one of the biggest bag trends of 2025, but Kate’s choice of the style from Aspinal fits in with her previous handbag choices. This isn’t the Princess’s first time carrying what Tom Wambsgans would deem a “ludicrously capacious” bag. Visiting Birmingham in April 2023, she was also pictured getting off the train with a tote bag filled to the brim—another East West bag, but that one was from Smythson.
Kate’s return to work this year has been measured and slow, after she revealed in January she was in remission. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery,” she wrote in a rare personal message. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to.”
