Beat the winter blues with dozens of events and activities across Tri-Cities this January
The holidays have come to a close, yet winter has hardly begun. It may be hard to fight off the winter blues, especially since Washingtonians have notoriously low Vitamin D.
Many people find themselves with lower energy and motivation levels during the dark and cold winter months. This means it’s extra important to get outside, socialize and move around.
Luckily, there’s much to do in Tri-Cities. Local bars and restaurants have regular open mic nights, trivia nights and karaoke nights, and new activities are announced often.
The Runners of the Sage Winter Mountain Running Series starts Jan. 4, visiting a different local mountain every Saturday starting at 8 a.m. It’s not just for runners, either, walkers and joggers are welcome to join.
Or, if you’d rather get your exercise in indoors, the Rollarena Skating Center’s new Adults Only Thursday evening session is for 18 and up from 8 to 10 p.m., hosted by DJ Prota-C. Admission is $10.
More of a night owl? The Emerald of Siam is hosting a 21+ karaoke competition all month long, crowning a winner, the first-ever Emerald Idol, on Jan. 31. Qualifiers are held Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 9 p.m. and going until midnight, with $10 entry.
