The Best Celebrity Looks From “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” Premiere
The games are back.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes premiered last night, Monday, November 13, at the TCL Chinese Theatre, bringing back the glamour and excitement Hollywood had been missing during the SAG-AFTRA strike (which ended last week, after 118 days).
The new prequel film, which begins showing in theaters this week, tells the story of a young Coriolanus Snow, years before he becomes president, as he’s assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird from District 12 in the 10th annual Hunger Games. Viewers follow him on his journey to becoming Panem’s feared tyrant.
West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler plays Lucy Gray, while Tom Blyth (of 2018’s Scott and Sid and 2021’s Benediction) stars opposite her as Snow. Joining them are Viola Davis as Dr. Volumnia Gaul, Peter Dinklage as Dean Casca Highbottom, Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow, and Jason Schwartzman as Lucky Flickerman. Other cast members include Burn Gorman, Fionnula Flanagan, Ayomide Adegun, Ashley Liao, and Isobel Jesper Jones.
Stars celebrated the return to work last night by showing off their most dazzling looks on the red carpet—from Schafer’s glittering silver cutout gown to Jena Malone’s sharp suit and tie and Olivia Rodrigo’s floral halter dress.
