Betty Crocker Is Launching 2 First-of-Their-Kind Baking Mixes
They work like magic.
Just because Betty Crocker is one of the most beloved names in the baking game (imagine—where would we be without Bisquick?) doesn’t mean the brand isn’t constantly treating us to new and delicious baking experiences.
Sometimes, that means iconic collabs with fan-favorite candies. Other times, it means brand-new baking innovations that make kitchen projects even more fun and whimsical—and that's what Betty Crocker is giving us with its new baking mix duo.
Betty Crocker Launches New Color-Changing Baking Kits
In celebration of Universal Pictures' new film adaptation of Wicked, Betty Crocker is launching two new baking mixes with "magical" properties—they change color as you make them. You won't know which color of mix you're getting when you pick it off the shelf, but you can be sure there's a delicious and enchanting treat to come.
The first-ever "mix-to-reveal" baking kits are available as cookie dough pops and cupcakes and give a nod to Wicked's two main characters. "The vanilla-flavored mixes change colors as the ingredients are stirred, revealing if bakers will be conjuring up a positively green treat like Elphaba, or a perfectly pink one like Glinda," the brand shared in a press release.
Both kits come with everything you need: with the cookie dough pop mix, you'll get white melting wafers and sticks, and the cupcake mix kit will provide a whipped topping mix and baking cups. And, of course, both kits wouldn't be complete without plenty of edible glitter.
But, if you aren't totally spellbound by the new colorful mixes, you can still create some enchanting new treats with the mixes you already know and love (and probably have stocked in your pantry). For a limited time, six of the classic Betty Crocker products will feature Wickedly Better Together recipe combinations that will "please everyone in the Land of Oz."
Whether you whip up the Fantabulous Brookies (with Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix and Delights Supreme Triple Chunk Brownie Mix) or the Thrillifying Cupcakes (with Super Moist Yellow Cake Mix and Fudge Brownie Mix), these unexpected mashups are bound to be "popular" at your table.
Betty Crocker is launching its new Wicked-themed treat kits (with no shortage of musical puns) at retailers nationwide at a suggested retail price of $5.98. But these special-edition mixes are only around for the movie's launch, so don't wait to bring the magic to your kitchen.
