Bevza Fall 2025: Grace Through Adversity

That Svitlana Bevza manages to continue to grow her Made in Ukraine fashion label as war wages on in her home country is testament to the human spirit — and the fashion spirit.

And she does it with such grace, a quality that permeates her cooly elegant Bevza collection. For fall 2025, she reworked her ladylike Kazuhukh coat with exaggerated collar as a chic jacket, played with flapper-like fringe on evening skirts and dresses, and pushed her rectangle-based tailoring for daytime.

She also expanded her use of spikelets, a symbol of Ukraine’s fertile land that she first used on jewelry, then hardware for bags and now on a new mirror pendant. Bevza followed the link from grain to traditional twisted bread, establishing the braid as another design theme.

The dual motifs were represented in the plaited texture of a gorgeous shearling coat, on the woven bodice of a red wool jersey dress, in the chunky braided texture of a black corset top and the cummerbund on a chic Le Smoking that had a cropped tuxedo jacket with detachable tails.

In other news, Bevza has increased the amount of dead stock materials she’s using to 80 percent and repurposed vintage mink coats to make knitted fur jackets.

Business is going OK, she said, noting growth in the U.S. and U.K., but continuing difficulty with deliveries out of Kiev.

“People are exhausted and fatigued,” she said of the mood. “Hopefully, my husband will be resigned from the army soon and able to come here. Let’s see what happens to Ukraine. We’re joking that everyone is sitting with popcorn waiting for what your president will say.”
