Bride Screams at Guests for Refusing to Use Single Taxi She Hired to Take 100 People Home: ‘Would Have Waited for Hours’
Although it was a kind gesture, those who waited for the single taxi doing round trips for more than 100 guests didn't get home until the middle of the night
A bride "lost her s---" after her wedding guests refused to use her provided transportation.
One of the guests explained in a post on Reddit's "Wedding Shaming" forum why the majority of her friends and family were opposed to taking the couple's post-wedding taxi.
Because the wedding didn't have much entertainment, as it lacked any music, the Redditor thought it would be appropriate to leave after "a good few hours" around 10 p.m., which was "late enough to be respectful." Apparently everyone else had the same idea because when the poster went to get a cab, the queue was already "pretty long."
After 20 minutes of waiting, the guest walked to the front of the line to see what the hold up was.
"Turns out the bride and groom very kindly had paid for transport back to the hotel we were all staying at… but it was just one cab doing round trips for 100 plus guests!" the individual wrote. "We would have waited for hours!!"
All this time, the wedding guest assumed that the bride was still "enjoying her wedding," but "for some weird reason" she was actually spending her night at the front of the queue arranging it all.
"We gave her a hug and said not to worry about us and we would jump in one of the station taxis," the wedding guest wrote.
This response immediately upset the bride.
"Well she lost her s---, apparently that was so rude, they had spent money on transport for guests and expected us to use it," the Redditor recalled. "By then I was tired and over it so we very politely explained it’s a long queue and we’re really happy to just sort out our own transport."
The poster continued: "She ended up screaming at us as we walked off ‘well you have to pay for it!!!!’ Obviously — that’s exactly what we expected to do."
In Slovakia, where the wedding took place, the cab fare was less than $3 between four people, before tip. So, many wedding guests chose to get their own affordable transportation instead of wasting hours in line. While the poster was "happy to sink into bed" at a reasonable hour, other people who used the bride and groom's taxi didn't make it home until "around 2 a.m."
"The bride was excitedly telling everyone her crazy party went on into the early hours but we’re all pretty sure it was just the cab queue…" the Redditor concluded.

In the comments section, other Redditors agreed that they would have done the same thing as the poster. They also said it would have been more efficient for the couple to have paid for more than one cab or a shuttle to transport guests from the wedding to the hotel.
"It's like...they were so close to getting this right!" one person commented. "Very considerate to pay for the transport, but not so much when they didn't think about the actual logistics."
Another Reddit user did the math and found that 100 people divided into a four-person cab would require 25 round trips. "Even at 15 minutes each you’re talking 6+ hours," they said.
