Bride Tried to Ride a Unicorn Through a River but Got Soaked Instead

Just as women get excited to dress up on their big day, apparently some horses do too.

For her wedding, Sue Allegretta decided to dress her horse up as a unicorn and ride him through a river for a unique, fairy-tale-style photo shoot. With a fake horn on its head, her horse took the Oakland, N.J., resident into the water and, while it started out well, the stallion got a little too excited romping in the river and threw the bride off its back, soaking her gown, hair, and bouquet.

The initial images show Allegretta and her bridesmaid, in blue, holding hands as their horses carried them into the water. But a moment later the bride took a dive. The photographer kept snapping, luckily for us, and pictures show a not-so-beaming bride after she pulled her sullied gown out of the water. Her friend Mackenzie Vulgaris, who witnessed the incident, felt differently, however. “Sue’s horse loves the water and was playing in it,” the 18-year-old told the Daily Mail. “Next thing you know, she’s rolled off the horse and landed in the water! It was hysterical — I will never forget it.”

Luckily for Allegretta’s bridesmaid, her horse was not so inspired by the water and kept his composure, leaving the woman firmly on his back. In addition to the fake horns, both horses had dyed manes.

Apparently, Allegretta didn’t get the memo about taking a risk during your wedding photo shoot being a bad idea. There was the time a couple went out into the wilderness for a serene shot but the groom got bitten by a rattlesnake, and it was all captured on camera. One bride sued her videographer after footage of her husband faltering and falling down as he tried to remove her garter belt went viral. Too bad Allegretto didn’t have this couple’s luck: They were photobombed by Tom Hanks at their wedding.

However, this bride wasn’t going to let a little water ruin her day; by the time Allegretta was emerging from the water, she had a smirk on her face, perhaps realizing that this would be a bridal memory for the books.
