A surprising royal was just named best dressed by one of the biggest names in fashion

One of the biggest names in fashion media has a surprising take on who deserves the title as the best-dressed member of the royal family.

According to insiders, Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue is particularly fond of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall’s personal sense of style.

Royal correspondent Emily Andrews shared the hot take during an appearance on a Channel 5 special called “Secrets of the Royal Dressmaker.”

“He thinks she’s the best-dressed royal,” Andrews dished. “He thinks she’s gorgeous and he wants to put her on the cover of Vogue.”

A glossy cover would make the Duchess of Cornwall would become the third royal to grace the cover of British Vogue. Princess Diana graced the cover four times, while the Duchess of Cambridge landed a cover spot in 2016.

The pick comes as a surprise, given that the documentary reveals Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle boost fashion sales by approximately $524,000 CAD a year.

“She is a classic good plain dresser,” expert Ingrid Stewart added.

Author Claudia Joseph explains that the 71-year-old’s personal style is more laid-back than her prim and polished public image.

“Camilla, like Kate, is much happier in jeans and wellies playing with her grandchildren and dogs than she is in posh frocks,” Joseph revealed. “She wears quite traditional clothing, elegant, tailored, not showing too much flesh.”

Roy Allen, who has been dressing the duchess for nearly 14 years says he prefers to stick with pieces that accentuate the waist.

Allen designed Camilla’s going-away outfit after her wedding to Prince Charles in 2005.

“I think she is getting great fun out of clothes now,” Allen said of the Duchess in 2007. “She doesn’t mind what people say if she wears them over and over again.”
