Bruins' DeBrusk deletes Twitter, Instagram amid Kadri controversy

Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk emerged as arguably one of the most controversial figures of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and is trying to drown out the noise.

DeBrusk appeared to land a knee-on-knee hit on Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri during Game 2 of their first-round series. Kadri, in turn, retaliated in the third period and was suspended for the duration of the matchup for his cross-check to DeBrusk’s face.

Leafs fans evidently haven’t taken kindly to DeBrusk and he admitted that he’s deleted his Instagram and Twitter accounts as a result.

“It was getting a bit hectic. It was getting a little intense, and getting to family members as well,” DeBrusk said, according to Matt Porter of The Boston Globe.

There’s been no word if DeBrusk plans to reinstall the social media apps after the series ends.
