Buckingham Palace representatives have allegedly told celebrity favourite jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer to stop using images of Meghan Markle to promote her business.

In recent months, the 42-year-old jeweller – who was previously married to actor Tobey Maguire and is best friends with the likes of Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz – has posted several images of the Duchess of Sussex wearing her designs to the her Instagram account.

However, the Daily Mail reports that the designer is said to have breached a non-disclosure agreement by sharing images of the 38-year-old on her social media platforms.

A royal source told the Daily Mirror: 'Jennifer Meyer has been told to remove the images and in no uncertain terms how damaging this could be for Meghan and the Royal Family.'

A quick look at Meyer’s account and you’ll see that images of Markle have been removed, including one of her wearing the JM turquoise inlay bar studs during the US Open and the three turquoise mini bezel dangle necklace which she wore to the first photo call following her son Archie Harrison’s birth in May.

The Duchess has worn Meyer’s designs on several occasions over the years, for events such as the Wimbledon Championships and her baby shower in New York in February.

Several celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Jenna Dewan, Jennifer Aniston and Chrissy Teigen wearing her pieces feature on Meyer’s Instagram account.

Despite reports that Meyer has been asked to remove images of Markle - who is clearly a big fan of the designer's work - the Duchess has long supported her friends' fashion endeavours.

In September, a post shared on the @sussexroyal Instagram page included a heart-warming shout-out to designer Misha Nonoo, referencing the British fashion designer’s collaboration with Markle for the royal’s Smart Works capsule collection.

The Instagram post features a series of three photos of the royal at the launch of the collection on 12 September. In the second photo, Nonoo and Meghan share a loving hug and a kiss on the cheek.
