Camila Cabello debuts a 'Birkin bob' haircut for autumn 2024
As the summer sun slips away and the autumn rain creeps in, we're only seeing a rise in hair transformations; new season, new haircut, as the old adage saying goes! And one style we're seeing a surge in is the bob, with today's shorter haircut coming courtesy of Camila Cabello.
Over the weekend, Camila attended the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada alongside a number of fellow pop icons, including Dua Lipa and Gwen Stefani. Now, as excited as we were to watch her on-stage performance (she rode on the front of a BMX bike, FYI), what had us taking beauty notes was her shorter haircut.
I mean, it was only a few weeks ago that she had hip-skimming locks and now, her lengths sit perfectly on her collarbone!
Camila's long-time friend and celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos – who has worked on some of the most recognisable heads in the Hollywood game, including but not limited to Megan Fox, Kim Kardashian and Joey King – shared a photo on Instagram of her new 'do. In the caption of his post, Dimitris dubs Cam's cut 'the Birkin Bob'.
Although no context has been shared behind this name, we can only assume that it was inspired by the British-French actor, Jane Birkin. After all, the lengths and thick (yet still very much straight) style does bear similarities to Jane's iconic look.
This iteration, however, is a tad longer than the everyday bob. So, when you, inevitably, join the bob brigade, do specify with your hairdresser the length – whether it be the Birkin, tucked or laser cut bob, there's a style for all!
