'Life is so much more than a belly': Canadian influencer shares body-positive message
Ontario-based influencer Sarah Nicole Landry opened up about wearing a body con dress while on vacation.
Sarah Nicole Landry is sharing a body-positive reminder.
On Tuesday, the Canadian influencer and self-love advocate — better known as The Birds Papaya — shared an empowering Instagram Reel of herself on vacation with her husband, embracing life in a dress that made her feel "a little insecure."
In the video set to "Style" by Taylor Swift, Landry posed in a bright white, body con halter mini dress. She explained in on-screen text that she "forgot to pack high rise" shape-wear to wear underneath the piece, but decided to wear it anyway.
Unfazed by the initial discomfort, she proceeded to share footage of herself throughout the night, dancing and socializing with her husband and friends. The on-screen text emphatically concluded: "Life is so much more than a belly."
In the caption, Landry continued to champion the message of self-love, admitting at first, she used her purse to hide herself. But as the night unfolded, she discovered her worries were all for nothing.
"It all faded as I once again realized that nobody freaking cared. Including me. Eventually," she penned.
In the comments, fans applauded Landry's important reminder.
"That's the motivation I need," someone wrote.
Another person shared: "Stunning! It's always a hard reminder that we are more than just our bodies."
"I didn't even notice your belly, I just noticed your beautiful smile and how much fun you had. You looked stunning!" a fan swooned.
"Nobody freaking cared is the thing!!" commented another. "They're just happy you showed up! Also, you look gorgeous."
Earlier this month, the Guelph, Ont.-based content creator shared another Instagram Reel urging her followers not to "hide" behind their clothes.
In the clip, Landry posed in a black bra and matching underwear set, while on-screen text read, "I could just show up like this."
She then lowered her waistband and proudly revealed her lower stomach.
"But I choose to show up like this, too, because I know how hard it is to only see seemingly one type of stomach and to feel like you're hiding shame under your clothes," she added.
