Capri Sun Has A New Pouch-Less Juice & People Have Strong Opinions
Say it ain't so!
Childhood favorite Capri Sun has been goading social media followers over the past couple of months, teasing a new adult-centered resealable bottle with no poke holes required.
After months of hinting, the brand has finally launched resealable bottles for the first time in over 20 years. (Apparently they tried this before, according to a press release, though I either never knew this or blocked it from my memory.)
No poke holes??? But fret not, the iconic pouches aren't going anywhere. There will simply now be more options for imbibing y0ur fave Sun. The new 12-ounce bottles are double the size of your familiar pouch and come in the brand's three most popular flavors: Fruit Punch, Strawberry Kiwi, and Pacific Cooler.
While these new bottles certainly present an easier, more convenient, and bigger way to enjoy your juice, fans of the brand are pretty divided in their reactions to the new launch.
"Pouch disrespect is an unforgivable offense," commented one person on the brand's Instagram page. Another was equally offended by the new bottles, writing, "BOYCOTT CAPRI SUNS #PouchesOrDie," on another post.
However, not all Capri Sun die-hards shared the same sentiment. Many folks seem excited for the new era of the Sun. "Don't worry caprisun I'll sip it like it's Dom Perignon," said one, in response to the uproar.
"They make bottles now?! Definitely getting some," wrote one happy customer. Another exclaimed, "They actually have a jug of Capri son????!!!!!!! This is an adult's dream."
One person who had been fearful the pouch was going to be replaced completely share this sentiment: ""Thank you for respecting the pouch and all of our childhoods."
