Celebrate fall with these new 11 seasonal craft beers from Myrtle Beach, SC area breweries

Kids are back in school, tourist crowds have slowed and temperatures are starting to cool in the Myrtle Beach area. The official start of autumn is still a couple of weeks away, but the Grand Strand is getting ready for fall and so are local breweries.

From pumpkin lagers to coffee ales, craft beer lovers and fans of fall won’t want to miss these autumn brews available for a limited time only.

Grand Strand Brewing Company

Grand Strand Brewing in downtown Myrtle Beach is offering three limited-time only beers this fall. The brewery released its Oktoberfest German lager last month, and brought back its Conway Coffee Ale on Tuesday.

On Sept. 21 Grand Strand Brewing will host Funk in the Park, a beer and music festival featuring live music, craft beer and food vendors. At the event, the brewery will release its Seetang beer, a collaboration with Ashville-based Wicked Weed Brewing. Named for the German word for seaweed, Seetang is a West Coast Kolsch beer.

New South Brewing

Local microbrewery New South Brewing has three seasonal beers planned for this autumn. The Oktoberfest amber lager, released last month, will be available through October.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, New South Brewing will host an adoption day with the Humane Society, weather permitting. The brewery will also introduce Hair of the Dog, a blood orange IPA benefiting the nonprofit, available this month only. A dollar from each draft pour of Hair of the Dog will go to the Humane Society.

In November, New South Brewing will release another beer for one month only. Each draft pour of the Brock beer in November will benefit the Adaptive Surf Project.

Crooked Hammock Brewery

On Friday, Sept. 6 Crooked Hammock Brewery in North Myrtle Beach will kick off its fourth annual month-long Crooktoberfest celebration, featuring live music, crafts for kids and quirky contests like keg squatting and pretzel toss.

The brewery has two seasonal German beers: Crooktoberfest, an amber lager, and WunderPumpkin, which has, “the same traditional marzen base as Crooktoberfest with a light pumpkin kiss.” Crooked Hammock will also roll out a Bavarian-inspired menu with specialties like the Bier Me Burger and Caramel Apple Strudel Sundae.

Tidal Creek Brewhouse

The Market Common craft brewery will offer two seasonal fall beers this year. The Fiddler Festbier, released last month, is Tidal Creek’s German-style lager, “brewed to celebrate Bavarian Oktoberfest.” The brewery will also host an Oktoberfest event featuring accordion players, stilt walkers and a special menu on September 21.

Next month, Tidal Creek will also release Spice Drop, its pumpkin beer. A release date for 2024 hasn’t been announced, but last year the brewery started serving Spice Drop on Oct. 24.

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant

The Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant in Market Common will offer a seasonal beer and food menu for a limited time this fall. The Oktoberfest beer will be available starting Sept. 16 and the restaurant will serve popular German foods like jaeger schnitzel in October and November.
