Chapped lips? This Summer Fridays lip balm is a saviour for dry winter skin — here's why it's worth $33

I own three of the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balms, and here's why they're a winter essential.

I am a self-proclaimed lip balm fanatic, and that's no exaggeration. From good ol' Vaseline to popular lip sleeping masks, I've tried most of the must-haves that you've probably seen on your TikTok "For You" page at one point or another.

While I've tried many lip balms, not all of them have moisturized to my liking. Many products actually dried my lips out more, which is not what I signed up for (especially during the cold, dry winter months). But, when I tried the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm, my lips were very pleased.

Since I own a plethora of lip products, I told myself I'd finish the ones I already own before adding to my vast collection. However, after discovering this formula, I simply couldn't resist purchasing it in three flavours: Sweet Mint, Vanilla and Pink Sugar (excessive, I know).

I can confidently say that my lips have been happily moisturized ever since purchasing the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm. Now that the weather is getting cold and the air drier, I've been reaching for it more than ever.

The first thing I noticed was the aesthetic tube — I'm a sucker for packaging. Another thing that caught my attention was the scent of these butter balms, which are pretty strong yet pleasant. If you prefer fragrance-free products, this balm might not be for you.

It has an easy applicator that hugs my lips nicely and applies the product smoothly. Plus, I can appreciate that I don't have to dip my fingers in a tub to use it. I own two clear flavours and one tinted, but the clear ones are my personal favourite. They're great for layering with lip liners!

The formula is made with shea and murumuru seed butter that'll naturally condition your pout, and vegan waxes to really bring on the shine. The product is not too thick but definitely viscous enough for me — and it's not greasy at all.

It definitely earns bonus points for having a Sephora Clean seal. It's also vegan and made from recyclable packaging, making it an all-around win in my books.

While I love this butter balm a lot, the price ($33) is pretty hefty, which I don't love. That said, I think it's worth every penny, and I will not be going back to my old lip balms here on out.

The Lip Butter Balm boasts an overall 4.3-star rating, with more than 12,000 reviews and 3,000,000 "loves" on Sephora.

"The scents are all amazing[,] and the hydration is amazing," said one reviewer. Another added that it's "super smooth and doesn't stick to my hair."

One customer said the sweet mint flavour "has a good mild minty tingle" effect, adding that it "feels great on the lips."

"I have never in my life liked a lip product so much before," said another shopper.

"For girlies who want a transparent gloss, this is for you," said one promising review.

When it comes to lip balms, I look for a few things: hydration, shine, staying power and a pleasant scent — it's safe to say Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm checks all the boxes.

Now, the formula might work differently for others, but I can attest to the healing properties of this product. It hasn't dried out my lips, and I don't need to constantly re-apply it, which I love.

Is it worth it? I vote yes. It's expensive, but I can justify the steep price point because a little bit goes a long way. Plus, it's worth having hydrated lips (and I love a little luxurious treat every now and again).
