Cher just debuted a cornucopia-like XXL beehive hairstyle
If ever a legendary hair muse, it's Cher. From butt-skimming raven locks to blunt jellyfish bangs and even a frosted pixie cut circa 1984 (Google it), the singer has served up some iconic hairstyles in her time – to say the very least. And at 78, she's showing experimental beauty and age knows no bounds with a gigantic beehive 'do to rival that of Amy Winehouse. You could say it's so big that it's creating a buzz... soz.
Overnight, Cher attended the SNL50: The Anniversary Special event [February 16] arm in arm with her boyfriend, Alexander Edwards. For the occasion, the star went above and beyond in the beauty department, sporting an iridescent smokey eye complimented by an out-of-this-world updo.
The platinum blonde beehive holds a conical shape on the top of her head and is slightly backwards-pointing. To finish the look, a number of chest-length layered tendrils fall around her face.
While Cher's hairstylist for the night is yet to be named, we're going to assume that the look has been achieved via a wig. After all, it was only a few days ago that she was spotted with her signature black curls.
My colleague, (hi Cosmo's Fashion Writer, Alex Dale) likened the look to a cornucopia, while I, personally, think it's quite, well, phallic. Do you see it? Or maybe I'm just very unfortunate (in the sex department) to consider this...
Either way, we both agreed that it's one of the biggest beehives we've ever seen, so much so that it must be full of secrets. Gretchen Weiners, eat your heart out!
