A New Cinnamon Toast Crunch Is Here—And Fans Say It’s Better Than the Original
"It tastes amazing."
For most of us, Cinamon Toast Crunch is a bowlful of nostalgia. The crunchy squares dusted with a bold cinnamon-sugar blend have been a staple in the cereal aisle for decades, making school mornings a little sweeter and late-night snacking all the more satisfying.
But, as much as we "crave those crazy squares," a new version of the beloved cereal has entered the breakfast category, and some are saying it even tops the original.
New Cinnamon Toast Crunch Waffle Cereal
We’ve seen lots of cereal innovation come out of the CTC kitchen, from French Toast Crunch to Apple Pie Toast Crunch to Gingerbread Toast Crunch. But now, the brand is rolling out a new breakfast-themed treat: Cinnamon Toast Crunch Waffle Cereal. Put the waffle iron away, because now you can pour yourself a bowl of toasty, buttery waffles straight from the cereal box.
Unlike the thin and crunchy texture of the original, these new cereal squares are lighter and puffier with cute little crevices that complete the waffle look. Plus, alongside the Cinnadust, they feature a sweet maple syrup flavor, playing even more into the waffle-cereal mash-up.
Early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with many claiming this new product takes the original fan-favorite flavors to the next level. “This cereal is literally perfect,” one commenter said. “Ate the whole box up,” shared another.
One reviewer said they preferred the pancake syrup flavor with a hint of cinnamon to the overwhelmingly cinnamon taste of the original. “Dry, I like these better than the Cinnamon Toast Crunch,” they stated.
Others were drawn to the airier texture of the waffle cereal, saying, “The extra thickness allows more milk in the pieces.”
However, some reviewers argue that the reimagined cereal shape doesn’t hold up nearly as well in a bowl with milk. “It’s fibrous. It’s like wet paper,” one reviewer said. “I don’t like it at all.”
So, does the new waffle-shaped style really dethrone the signature cinnamon cereal? You’ve heard what fans have to say; now, you’ll just have to determine it for yourself. It's already on shelves at Walmart.
