'Claim To Fame's JR Is Related To A Grammy Winning Artist đ
Calling all Claim To Fame fans! ABC's hit reality show, hosted by Kevin and Franklin Jonas, is approaching the end of its second season, and people are absolutely *buzzing* about the cast and some major spoilers about who wins it all.
As with season 1, the show kicked off with 12 contestants, each one related to a mystery celebrity. (ICYMI, the point of the show is to figure out who the boldface name is in everyone's family tree.) There's a clue wall in the contestants' mansion that holds objects hinting at each person's secret celebrity relationship. The wall provides the cast and fans at home with clues to help them uncover contestants' true identity.
If you're reading this article, that probably means you're here for some juicy spoilers. Here's the good news: Reddit and Twitter users have already put a lot of the pieces together. In the trailers, A-lister names like Gal Gadot, Janet Jackson, Harrison Ford, and Anne Hathaway were thrown around as possible celeb connections, but those guesses still haven't been confirmed.
Ready to unpack the latest season? If so, read on for all the details, along with a recap of everything that went down during season one.
Warning: spoilers ahead! Stop reading if you don't want to know.
How does the show work?
Twelve contestants share clues that hint at their celebrity relative. However, some of those "clues" are actually red herrings to throw off the other players. The overall goal is to be the last one to successfully hide your relative's identity, keeping it a secret without being figured out.
Each week, the contestants complete a series of challenges. The winner of each challenge is exempt from being identified, and the bottom two have to wait while the house determines which will be selected as the "guesser." The guesser then selects another member of the house and tries to guess their celebrity relative.
If they're correct, the person matched with their celebrity relative will be sent home. But if they're wrong, the guesser's own celebrity connection will be revealed, and they'll be sent home, instead. The winner receives a $100,000 prize.
Who are the cast members on Claim To Fame season 2?
Many of the contestants hide their identities by coming up with fake names. So, while these are the names the cast members use on the show, they might not be their actual names:
Carly
JR
Chris
Karsyn
Jane
Cole
Travis
Shayne
Gabriel
Monay
Hugo
Olivia
Check them out in the show's official poster below:
What happened in episode 8?
Episode eight started with a heated conversation between Chris and Gabriel over last weekâs betrayal when Chris tried to give out Gabriel's clue in exchange for his safety.
During their challenge, the contestants played a game of trivia in a mud field full of stars with celebrity names on them. During each round, Franklin would ask a trivia question, and each player had to run to the star with the correct name on it. For every question asked, there was one less star with the right answer on the field. Think: musical chairs meets trivia. In the end, Monay won, with JR and Gabriel left in the bottom two.
While there weren't anymore winner's clues left in the wine cellar, Monay was able to keep the final clue from the challenge, which was Chris'. The clue said that his claim to fame won season nine of Dancing With The Stars in 2009. Unfortunately, many of the contestants couldn't remember who it was.
During the elimination ceremony, JR was selected to be the guesser and incorrectly guessed that Chris was related to Billy Idol. As a result, it was revealed that JR (whose full name is Robert Lamar Stafford, Jr.) is Lil Nas X's older brother.
Who has been guessed so far?
With eight episodes down and four more contestants remaining, here's who has been eliminated so far:
Episode 1: Carly, Tom Hanks' niece.
Episode 2: Travis, Neil deGrasse Tyson's son.
Episode 3: Jane (real name Jada Star), Dolly Parton's niece.
Episode 4: Shayne, Eddie Murphy's daughter.
Episode 5: Cole, Alicia Keys'brother.
Episode 6: Olivia, Jenny McCarthy's niece.
Episode 7: Hugo, former President Jimmy Carter's grandson.
Episode 8: JR (whose full name is Robert Lamar Stafford, Jr.), Lil Nas X's older brother.
Some fans on Reddit also seem to have connected the rest of the dots already. Hereâs who they think they've found in the poster:
Chris is Donny Osmondâs son.
Gabriel is Nick Cannonâs brother.
"Monay" is actually JB Smooveâs daughter, Jerrica Brooks.
On X, one user believes Karsyn may be related to Dale Earnhardt. However, this one hasn't been confirmed yet, so youâll just have to tune in to find out for sure.
