Years of true-grit living on a ranch has taught Cole Hauser what works and what doesn't in his outfits.

That's why the Yellowstone star considers it "exciting" to have been approached by Authentic Brands Group to represent their two heritage labels: Lucky Brand and Frye. With the former, Hauser has crafted a wholly unique collection of garments evocative of his decades of experience in the field (and in the saddle) that harken back to yesteryear.

The collection, which is highlighted by t-shirts bearing Hauser's signature slogans such as "Get up and get after it," denim that the actor says is engineered to be in a "horse saddle for eight hours, sometimes 10 hours a day," outerwear, flannels and more, ranges in price from $39-$499 and includes sizes S-XXL. The entirety of the collection is available now and eschews all of Hauser's signature cool — while simultaneously harkening back to his "Americana" roots.

Fans may know the actor for his work on the hit Paramount series chronicling the existence of the Dutton family, but Hauser's days off-camera are often spent in the saddle, putting those very ideologies he's known for on-screen into practice in real life.

"I wear jeans nine months out of the year," he says. "I wear cowboy boots nine months out of the year. And for me ... designing with Lucky was trying to find a way to even make it more comfortable."

That's why fabric selection was key to his decision-making process in designing this collection.

"Denim is denim, but at the end of the day, shirts – the buttons – a lot of the shirts that I was wearing on the show, it takes six months to wear 'em in. I wanted to create a shirt and a button down that basically off the rack you put on and it's comfortable," he notes. "Its got a little bit of stretch to it so you can ride with it and work with it. And so I think we've accomplished that and it's exciting."

To Hauser, his singular goal with the aesthetic of the collection was to "just [bring] back some old school kind of vibes that I feel like we got away from maybe in the 90s, early 2000s."

Ultimately, the star wants fans to know that his work with Lucky Brand is much more than just attaching his name to existing product. "I didn't come into Lucky and go, 'Hey, what do you guys want to do?' " He recalls of his experience. "The only jacket that they [already] had was [the] trucker jacket with the Sherpa. Everything else was created by Jimmy and I, who works at Lucky. And really, he got into the weeds with me about what is missing."

That ethos came full circle when Lucky Brand allowed Hauser to breathe new life into a favorite garment of his for decades: his jacket from the 2000 film Tigerland.

"When I left doing that film, I wore it everywhere, Hollywood and New York," he recalls. "And people used to always say, 'Man, where'd you get that jacket?' So I thought that's something we should bring back, and it's flying off the rack."

Hauser notes that "it was important for me to bring kind of my own style to Lucky, and not just the Western style, but also some stuff that's throwbacks to what we used to wear in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and they did a great job of helping me create it."

Most recently, Hauser brought his effortless cool to Dillard's at the Cool Springs Galleria Mall in Franklin, Tenn. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, where he connected with fans over the new collection in an experience that he says "makes my heart feel good."

"I've been doing it for really the last couple of years ... going and visiting with my fans and just talking with them and hanging out," he shares, adding, "it's always important to me to make sure that there is a connection between me as Cole and the fans out in America."

Ultimately, Hauser highlights how he's "one of them," adding, "I grew up pretty humbly with my mom and brothers and sisters in Oregon and all around this country and never spent any time in Tennessee, but in Texas and in Florida. And so I think they definitely, it resonates to them. Here's an American man who's followed his dreams and been successful in doing so. I feel like there's always a connection with them that way, which is nice."
