From Town & Country

2020 has been a year unlike any other—and even the Windsors haven't escaped its wrath. The British royal family is not only dealing with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but also the fallout from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step back from royal life and to move to the United States.

That drama has already featured prominently in a number of biographies including Finding Freedom, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand's popular debut. And now, another book titled Battle of Brothers: William, Harry and the Inside Story of a Family in Tumult is promising to take readers inside the historic Sandringham Summit, at which the Queen and Princes Harry, William, and Charles determined the terms of the Sussexes' exit from their roles as working royals.

It's being written by Robert Lacey, a historical consultant for the Netflix series The Crown—and unlike Finding Freedom, which primarily focused on Harry and Meghan's courtship, wedding, and partnership, this biography will center around William and Harry's relationship and their alleged rift.

"From royal insider, biographer, and historian Robert Lacey, this book reveals the untold details of William and Harry’s closeness and estrangement, asking what happens when two sons are raised for vastly different futures—one burdened with the responsibility of one day becoming king, the other with the knowledge that he will always remain spare," reads a description of Battle of Brothers.

"In the most intimate vision yet of life behind closed doors, with its highs, lows and discretions all laid out, this is a journey into royal life as never offered before."

Battle of Brothers: William, Harry and the Inside Story of A Family in Tumult comes out October 15, but is available to preorder now.
