This Custom Oceanfront Villa in Santa Monica Can Now Be Yours for a Cool $22 Million
A little over two years after it first hit the market with a $25 million price tag and was subsequently floated for rent at $85,000 per month, Kirk Lazurus’s snazzy oceanfront villa in the Los Angeles-area city of Santa Monica has popped up for sale again, this time with a substantially reduced ask. The founder and director of Molori Design, which is known for creating turnkey luxury homes, boutique hotels, super yachts, aircraft, and commercial high-rises, is now seeking $22 million for the deluxe spread, which is one of several places he’s bought and remodeled in the Gold Coast area through the years.
Records show Lazarus purchased the circa-1920s property for a smidge under $4 million back in 2010 and then spent about four years reimagining it before moving into the house in 2015. The listing is shared by Cindy Ambuehl and Aaron Kirman, both of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California.

Described in marketing materials as “second to none,” the three-story residence is sited on the exclusive Palisades Beach Road, which is often referred to as the “original Billionaire’s Beach.” Protected by a high-tech security system, the property features five bedrooms and eight baths in a little more than 6,600 square feet of fully furnished living space boasting antique parquet and chevron-patterned oak floors, exposed brick walls, semi-precious stone accents, custom light fixtures, and walls of glass overlooking the Pacific.
Among the other highlights is a bar-equipped living room that rests beneath a high wood-beam ceiling and opens via retractable doors to a fireside deck ideal for al fresco entertaining. An adjacent dining area connects to a gourmet kitchen outfitted with a center island, top-tier Wolf appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook. A duo of primary suites includes one with a wood-burning fireplace and a bath spotlighted by a copper soaking tub and another that has a rooftop terrace with a hot tub.

Elsewhere is a screening room, along with a game room, a gym, and a steam and massage room. And outdoors, the grounds, privatized by dense foliage, span just under a quarter-acre and host a kitchen and barbecue setup, a sunken lounging spot, and an infinity-edge pool and spa flanked by a sundeck. There’s also gated access to a sandy beach with a volleyball net, plus an attached two-car garage out front.
