Discover an illuminated enchanted forest and suspension bridge, 90 minutes from Bellingham

Just 90 minutes from downtown Bellingham you’ll find an enchanted forest full of tree-lined suspension bridges, treehouses and ponds, covered in Christmas lights for the holiday season.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a Vancouver, B.C. destination featuring a 450-foot long suspension bridge, over 1 mile of trails, a cliff walk and a path of suspended bridges between trees.

From Nov. 22 through Jan. 19 the park is decorated with millions of lights, decor and festive gifts and treats at its Canyon Lights event.

“Stroll across the world-famous suspension bridge, illuminated by a mesmerizing display of multi-colored lights that span the canyon, creating a breathtaking glow from end to end. Then, wander along Cliffwalk’s twinkling walkway along the cliff’s edge creating a stunning backdrop of lights along the granite cliff face. Over at Treetops Adventure, towering Douglas-fir trees are lit from tree top to bottom, offering visitors a fairytale-like journey up to 110 feet above the rainforest floor,” a news release from the park states.

The event also includes photo spots, a market, children’s activities, and a special holiday food and drink menu at The Cliff House Restaurant & Bar or Logger’s Grill, including hot chocolate, poutine, mulled wine, braised short rib, cocktails, or a dark chocolate raspberry yule log dessert.

All activities and attractions for Canyon Lights are included in admission to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Tickets can be purchased online in advance and cost $53.30 for ages 18-64, $49.59 for ages 65 and older, $44.41 for students 18 and older with student I.D., $31.81 for ages 13-17 and $18.48 for ages 6-12. Children 5 and under receive free admission. If tickets are purchased at the park, they cost an additional $3.

The park is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Jan. 19, but the park will be closed Dec. 24. Guests can stay in the park until 10 p.m. each night.

Parking is limited at the park, but free roundtrip shuttles from downtown Vancouver are available.
