Doja Cat Loses Almost 250k Instagram Followers After Twitter Rant

Doja Cat is once again under fire for comments she made to fans on Twitter and Threads, leading her to lose almost 250,000 Instagram followers in just one day.

The artist began by responding to posts from fans calling themselves "kittenz," a fandom name that she'd coined many years ago. "My fans don't name themselves sh-t. If you call yourself a "kitten" or f-cking "kittenz" that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house," she shared.

In response, a fan account named "thekittenzweb" asked, "What should I change my name to since you don't like the term kitten?" to which Doja replied, "Just delete the entire account and rethink everything, it's never too late." To another user, she responded, "You making my government name your sn is creepy as f-ck."

While individually, some responses may not seem entirely harsh, the recent comments follow a long line of offensive tweets to fans over the last month, leading numerous listeners to unfollow Doja Cat on social media altogether. While some fans believe that she's only speaking the truth (and admittedly, agree that she could be nicer about it,) others suggest her comments are unfair due to the fact that Doja's fan base are the reason she's as successful as she currently is.

Since the controversy surfaced, Doja's recent comments have been deleted but as we all know, the screenshots last forever.
