Donald and Melania Trump Have Tested Positive for COVID-19

"We will get through this TOGETHER!”

Early Friday morning, Donald Trump tweeted that he and wife Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19,” he wrote. “We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

The first lady echoed her husband’s sentiment, tweeting, “As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

The diagnosis comes hours after news that senior Trump aide, Hope Hicks, had contracted the virus. Hicks had traveled with the president to a rally on Wednesday and was on Air Force One with him on Tuesday ahead of the presidential debate.

“Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19,” Trump tweeted two hours before his own diagnosis. “Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!”

The Trumps join the ranks of more than 7.3 million Americans who’ve tested positive for COVID-19. To date, 208,000 people in our country have lost their lives.
