Dr. Pimple Popper Just Scooped Gunk From The 'Best' Cyst With A Curette
In Dr. Pimple Popper's new Instagram video, she helps a patient with a massive back cyst.
The bump is right on the surface of the skin and ready for popping.
Dr. Pimple Popper slices it open and scoops out all the gunk stuffed inside with her curette.
Dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee, M.D., aka Dr. Pimple Popper, ended her weekend with a juicy pop of a patient's back cyst, where she used a curette tool to scoop out the innards. And it wasn't just your average cyst...apparently, the patient had had it removed before, but it grew back. (Eek!)
In the Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper chats with the patient as she goes to work on the cyst. The patient's skin has already been cut open, and the derm uses a scalpel to slice the cyst open, which sprays out clear liquid immediately. As she works, the explains that it's not the first time she's had this cyst removed.
"This cyst was removed but it came back? How long ago did you get it removed?" asks Dr. Pimple Popper. "About two-and-a half years," the patient replies.
From there, Dr. Pimple Popper uses her hand to press on it, and thick white gunk spews out. "It's pretty superficial here. I think when it came back, part of it just came back on the surface," says Dr. P.

Once she's done squeezing, Dr. Pimple Popper grabs her curette to scoop out the rest of the cyst, circling the insides to scoop it clean. She injects additional numbing medication before using a pair of tweezers and scalpel to remove the cyst's sac.
"I'm going to try to tug it out a little bit. It's actually just wet skin cells underneath there, and a sac that sheds," Dr. P explains.
